# Bond builders

Bond builders are treatments made for damage below the surface of the strand. They are most relevant after bleach, chemical processing, or repeated high-heat styling that leaves hair snapping, stretching, or losing its curl pattern.

They are not the same as conditioners. A conditioner can smooth the cuticle and reduce friction. A bond builder is meant for deeper structural support.

RŌZ routines can sit around bond repair by keeping the hair clean, conditioned, and protected, but they do not replace a true bond-building treatment when that is the mechanism your hair needs.
